Previously, a timeout (in int64 nanoseconds) applied to a granularity
even smaller than one operation: a 100 byte read with a 1 second timeout
could take 100 seconds, if the bytes all arrived on the network 1 second
apart. This was confusing.
Rather than making the timeout granularity be per-Read/Write,
this CL makes callers set an absolute deadline (in time.Time)
after which operations will fail. This makes it possible to
set deadlines at higher levels, without knowing exactly how
many read/write operations will happen in e.g. reading an HTTP
request.

Duplicated fields from URL were dropped so that its behavior
is simple and expected when being stringified and when being
operated by packages like http. Most of the preserved fields
are in unencoded form, except for RawQuery which continues to
exist and be more easily handled via url.Query().
The RawUserinfo field was also replaced since it wasn't practical
to use and had limitations when operating with empty usernames
and passwords which are allowed by the RFC. In its place the
Userinfo type was introduced and made accessible through the
url.User and url.UserPassword functions.

Socket descriptors are not closed when fd.connect() fails during generic socket creation.
After a connection failure [ECONNREFUSED] descriptors are left in SYN_SENT state indefinitely (unless they get an explicit RST). Repeated failed connections will eventually cause your program to hit the user/system max-open-files limit.

This CL makes it possible to resolve DNS names on OS X
without offending the Application-Level Firewall.
It also means that cross-compiling from one operating
system to another is no longer possible when using
package net, because cgo needs to be able to sniff around
the local C libraries. We could special-case this one use

than it's worth. Cross compiling is dead anyway.

the bash scripts and makefiles for building go didn't take into account
the fact $GOROOT / $GOBIN could both be directories containing whitespaces,
and was not possible to build it in such a situation.
this commit adjusts the various makefiles/scripts to make it aware of that
possibility, and now it builds successfully when using a path with whitespaces
as well.

Previously a netFd could be queued for reading/writing in the channel,
but close(2)'ed before pollServer got to it. In this case, the kernel
would consider the descriptor closed and the attempt to add it to the
epoll set would fail and panic.
This patch makes Close a roundtrip to the pollServer, although the
actual close(2) still occurs elsewhere to avoid blocking the
pollServer.

and packages are 100%. I still need to go through and implement
missing syscalls (at least make sure they're all listed), but

implemented proper UDP listener.
cleaned up LocalAddr/RemoteAddr methods - cache in netFD.
threw away various unused methods.
an interface change:
introduced net.Addr as a network address interface,
to avoid conversion of UDP host:port to string and
back for every ReadFrom/WriteTo sequence.
another interface change:
since signature of Listener.Accept was changing anyway,
dropped the middle return value, because it is available
as c.RemoteAddr(). (the Accept signature predates the
existence of that method.)
Dial and Listen still accept strings, but the proto-specific
versions DialTCP, ListenUDP, etc. take net.Addr instead.
because the generic Dial didn't change and because
no one calls Accept directly (only indirectly via the http
server), very little code will be affected by these interface
changes.
