Handle make(map[any]any) and make(map[any]any, hint) where hint <= BUCKETSIZE special to allow for faster map initialization and to improve binary size by using runtime calls with fewer arguments. Given hint is smaller or equal to BUCKETSIZE in which case overLoadFactor(hint, 0) is false and no buckets would be allocated by makemap: * If hmap needs to be allocated on the stack then only hmap's hash0 field needs to be initialized and no call to makemap is needed. * If hmap needs to be allocated on the heap then a new special makehmap function will allocate hmap and intialize hmap's hash0 field. Reduces size of the godoc by ~36kb. The test directory contains tests of the Go tool chain and runtime. It includes black box tests, regression tests, and error output tests. They are run as part of all.bash.
To run just these tests, execute:
go run run.go
Standard library tests should be written as regular Go tests in the appropriate package.
The tool chain and runtime also have regular Go tests in their packages. The main reasons to add a new test to this directory are:
- it is most naturally expressed using the test runner; or
- it is also applicable to
gccgoand other Go tool chains.
