This change adds an intrinsic for Mul64 on s390x. To achieve that, a new assembly instruction, MLGR, is introduced in s390x/asmz.go. This assembly instruction directly uses an existing instruction on Z and supports multiplication of two 64 bit unsigned integer and stores the result in two separate registers. In this case, we require the multiplcand to be stored in register R3 and the output result (the high and low 64 bit of the product) to be stored in R2 and R3 respectively. A test case is also added. The test directory contains tests of the Go tool chain and runtime. It includes black box tests, regression tests, and error output tests. They are run as part of all.bash.
To run just these tests, execute:
../bin/go run run.go
Standard library tests should be written as regular Go tests in the appropriate package.
The tool chain and runtime also have regular Go tests in their packages. The main reasons to add a new test to this directory are:
- it is most naturally expressed using the test runner; or
- it is also applicable to
gccgoand other Go tool chains.
